“Sometimes healing begins the moment someone finally listens.”
If you’ve found your way here, welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Ally Kayton, and I’m the founder of Sage & Stone Holistic Counseling & Integrative Health.
For more than 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for patients in healthcare. As a Doctor of Nursing Practice, APRN, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, licensed mental health counselor, and integrative health practitioner, I’ve worked with people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
Throughout those years, one thing became impossible to ignore.
So many women were suffering quietly.
They were exhausted but kept pushing through because they believed they had to.
They were anxious but assumed it was simply part of modern life.
They weren’t sleeping, couldn’t think clearly, had gained weight despite doing “everything right,” felt disconnected from themselves, and wondered if they were somehow failing.
When they sought help, they often heard the same responses:
“Your labs are normal.”
“You’re just stressed.”
“It’s part of getting older.”
“Welcome to motherhood.”
“Everything looks fine.”
But they didn’t feel fine.
And that matters.
My Own Philosophy of Care
I’ve always believed that healthcare should begin with listening.
Lab work is important.
Medical evidence is important.
Clinical experience is important.
But so is your story.
Your symptoms are not inconveniences.
They are your body’s way of communicating that something deserves attention.
Sometimes the answer lies in hormone changes.
Sometimes it’s chronic stress that has kept your nervous system in survival mode for far too long.
Sometimes it’s anxiety, depression, burnout, nutrient deficiencies, sleep disruption, or a combination of several factors.
The body doesn’t separate physical health from emotional health.
Neither should we.
Why I Created Sage & Stone
Sage & Stone was born from a simple belief:
Women deserve healthcare that sees the whole person.
Not just lab values.
Not just diagnoses.
Not just symptoms.
The whole person.
At Sage & Stone, I wanted to create the kind of practice I wish more women experienced.
A place where appointments aren’t rushed.
Where questions are welcomed.
Where education is part of every visit.
Where we work together to understand why you’re feeling the way you do—not simply how to cover up the symptoms.
Whether someone comes to me for hormone optimization, counseling, metabolic health, or integrative wellness, my goal is always the same:
To restore health, not simply manage illness.
Restoration Means Different Things to Different Women
For one woman, restoration means finally sleeping through the night.
For another, it means feeling emotionally present with her children again.
For someone else, it’s finding relief from anxiety that seemed to come out of nowhere during perimenopause.
Sometimes it’s having the energy to exercise again.
Sometimes it’s laughing more.
Sometimes it’s remembering who you were before life became so overwhelming.
Healing isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about reconnecting with the person you’ve always been.
More Than Hormones
While hormones are an important part of what I do, they’re only one piece of the puzzle.
Mental health matters.
Nutrition matters.
Movement matters.
Sleep matters.
Relationships matter.
Stress matters.
Your nervous system matters.
True wellness happens when we recognize how beautifully connected these systems are.
That’s why you’ll often hear me talk about restoration instead of simply treatment.
My Promise to You
Whether we ever meet as provider and patient or whether you simply follow along through these blogs and educational posts, here’s my promise:
You’ll never be dismissed here.
You’ll never be told your concerns don’t matter.
You’ll receive evidence-informed information delivered with compassion, honesty, and respect.
My hope is that this space becomes more than a healthcare website.
I hope it becomes a trusted resource.
A place where you feel empowered to better understand your body, your mind, and your health.
Welcome to the Journey
Every month I’ll be sharing educational articles, practical wellness tips, mental health insights, hormone education, and reflections on what it truly means to live a restored life.
Thank you for being here.
Whether you’re navigating perimenopause, struggling with anxiety, healing from burnout, balancing motherhood, optimizing your health, or simply looking for answers, I want you to know this:
You don’t have to settle for surviving.
You deserve to feel like yourself again.
Welcome to Sage & Stone.
I’m so glad you’re here.
