Eudaimonia Conference Reflections: Returning to What Truly Works

I recently attended the Eudaimonia Conference, and it was one of the most energizing and clarifying professional events I’ve experienced this year. The conversations around resilience, metabolic health, nervous system regulation, and whole-person wellness deeply aligned with the work I do as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, mental health counselor, yoga therapy practitioner, and integrative health coach.

A highlight of the weekend was meeting Amanda Tress, founder of the FASTer Way — a program I’ve personally followed since 2018 and now coach within. Connecting with her reinforced how powerful it is when evidence-based nutrition and sustainable lifestyle habits are made accessible and doable for real people with real responsibilities.

The conference emphasized something I am even more committed to integrating into my practice and coaching:

Simplicity is transformative.

Our clients and patients don’t need more complicated protocols — they need foundational habits that support stability, clarity, and longevity.

Key takeaways I’m bringing back to my practice:

  • Nutrition matters: whole-food nourishment drives hormone balance, energy, mood, and resilience.
  • Sleep is therapy: recovery is equally as important as effort.
  • Move with intention: 2–3 strength sessions per week + walking is highly effective.
  • Walking is underrated: it regulates the nervous system, supports metabolic health, and boosts cognitive clarity.
  • Consistency beats complexity — every time.

As both a FASTer Way coach and IIN integrative health coach, this event reaffirmed my commitment to integrating nutrition and lifestyle medicine more intentionally into the mental health and NICU-related work I do at Sage & Stone Holistic Counseling.

Supporting individuals holistically — whether NICU parents, clinicians, or those navigating burnout, postpartum challenges, or chronic stress — means honoring the entire human system. And that starts with getting back to the basics.

If you’re in healthcare, behavioral health, or wellness and are exploring ways to integrate foundational lifestyle practices into your work, I’d love to connect.
